For a long time, most Oreos in Japan (including the full-sized original version) had dairy, in contrast to many other countries. However, as of early 2021 the products were reformulated. It’s reported that customer service stated at that time that the emulsifier is not animal-derived and that they use sugar from a variety of suppliers, including those using bone-char processed sugar, and that they do not call this a vegan product.

None of the new versions of Oreos (Original Oreos, Chocolate Cream Oreos, Strawberry Cream Oreos, Oreo Bits Sandwiches) show dairy on the ingredient list.
